Daily Step – Internal Peace

Share

Along the journey towards the greater, there are many small, daily steps to better understand oneself, God, and others. This is one of my “daily steps”.

Daily Steps are first posted on Social Media @gdcrowder

I struggle sometimes with internal peace.⠀

I will get to the end of a long day and receive a comment that causes me to doubt myself. I’ll working on a project and it won’t be as great as it appeared in my head and feel like I failed. Or often the pace of life will be so fast that I can just barely grab pieces of it to remember later.⠀

I wonder sometimes if others experience this internal disquiet. And then I get to listen to others I admire honestly express that they, too, are just trying to do the best the can… like @cobbleworks expressed on today’s episode of the #bearthelightpodcast with @christiannesquires this morning. She said “When I’m honest about this [disquiet] what I hear back from the Sacred is this deep reservoir of compassion, mercy, tenderness, and gentleness…” She expressed that giving our all to life is enough, even if the picture of our life might look imperfect to ourselves or others. ⠀

It reminded me that in order to have peace within, we have to really believe that God believes we are enough and we are doing the best job we can with what we have at this moment.⠀

So this is my prayer for you and I today by #StTeresaofAvila (with the reminder that even the saints struggled with internal peace):⠀

May today there be peace within. ⠀
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. ⠀
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. ⠀
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. ⠀
May you be content knowing you are a child of God. ⠀
Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. ⠀
It is there for each and every one of us.⠀

[Facebook reminded me this morning of this photo, four years ago with 10 month old twins and an almost 3 year old… a reminder that even then, I found a moment of peace – and I’m holding onto that today]⠀
