What does the day look like when your morning doesn’t go as planned?
I woke up as planned at the first buzzing of my alarm. Got up to do my workout (I’ve got to stop working out in sweatpants by the way). And then, midway through, a scheduling error popped into my head. And once it was there the desire to solve it was there too as well as the frustration over the situation. Then, just as I was finishing up my exercise and moving onto my next task the obnoxious fire alarm sounded in my oldest son’s room.
“Alarm! Alarm! Evacuate!” It yelled unabashedly.
I sighed and walked to check it out as a blurry figure burst out of the room and past me running like lightening away from the sound. “It’s just your humidifier, honey. It’s okay,” I tried to reassure him while attempting to silence the alarm. I was too short. Finally, my much taller husband woke up and turned it off just as it successfully roused all three boys out of bed an hour too early!
So much for a morning routine!
So how does the day go after your morning doesn’t go as planned?
I guess that’s up to me now. ⠀
How will your day go today?
My prayer for both of us is that no matter how our day starts or any hiccups that might happen throughout – we may find peace and hope and light today.
Let us pray.
“My God, ⠀
I do not know what must come to me today.⠀
But I am certain that nothing can happen to me that you have not foreseen, decreed, and ordained from all eternity.⠀
That is sufficient for me.⠀
I adore your impenetrable and eternal designs,⠀
to which I submit with all my heart.⠀
I desire, I accept them all, and I unite my sacrifice to that of Jesus Christ, my divine Savior.⠀
I ask in his name and through his infinite merits, patience in my trials, and perfect and entire submission to all that comes to me by your good pleasure.”
St. Joseph Pignatelli, S.J., pray for us.
