Along the journey towards the greater, there are many small, daily steps to better understand oneself, God, and others. This is one of my “daily steps”.

Sometimes our efforts can feel small.⠀
⠀
Recently a friend expressed to me how much my writings have meant to her. The genuine emotion she expressed took me back a little. I thought what I was doing was small… maybe no one was even reading it. But, I forgot that small efforts can make big impacts.⠀
⠀
I was listening to my friend @christiannesquires new #bearthelight podcast this morning. Her guest, @livinginthemidst explained how she processed her infertility journey on her blog and later her social media sites – a small way of processing and sharing that has resulted in big impacts on those who struggle to speak about their own journeys.⠀
⠀
I found these words of #DorothyDay helpful in understanding why our small efforts matter. ⠀
⠀
“People say, what is the sense of our small effort? They cannot see that we must lay one brick at a time, take one step at a time. A pebble cast into a pond causes ripples that spread in all directions. Each one of our thoughts, words and deeds is like that. No one has a right to sit down and feel hopeless. There is too much work to do.”⠀
⠀
So what if the efforts feel small… the impact could be so much bigger than you think.⠀
⠀
My #prayer today is that we each have the courage to lay one more brick on the path towards changing the world.
