I don’t know who needs to hear this today, but YOU are it!
You are the light we need to drive out the darkness.
I know it’s hard to believe.
Especially if the world feels dark for you right now.
Especially if there are people around you who you think could maybe do it better…
could maybe shine BRIGHTER.
But believe it.
The world is so much darker without your light.
I wonder how hard Jesus had to work to convince His disciples of this truth.
How many times did he have to turn to them and say as he journeyed toward his death on the cross:
“The world needs YOUR light now.”
I can only imagine how the disciples felt to be charged with continuing Jesus’ work without Him.
I imagine they felt unprepared.
I imagine they felt inadequate.
I imagine they all felt like saying, “Surely, it is not I, Lord.”
I can imagine how they felt because it’s how I feel every time God calls me to be the light God created me to be.
But what would have happened if they all refused to shine?
So, I’ll say it again:
You. Are. It.
And so am I.
